THE NCE PROGRAMME ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The NCE Programme is a three-year course of study leading to the award of the Nigerian Certificate in Education in the Federal Republic of Nigeria are laid down by the National Commission for Colleges Of Education, details of which are given below.
Entry Requirements
These are requirements, which are common to all the subjects taught in the College. They include the following:

A West African Senior School certificate (WASSC) or GCE O’ Level certificate of
NECO with passes in 5 subjects including English Language, 3 of which must be at the credit
level in the same sitting, or 4 credit at two sittings. Two of these credits must be relevant
to the course the candidate wishes to offer. Credits or passes in English and/or Mathematics may be a requirement in some courses.

For candidates wishing to offer course in vocational and Technical Education,
RSA or city and Guilds, intermediate certificate or the Federal Craft Training
Certificate with credit/merit in at least four subjects are acceptable.

A Grade 11 Teachers Certificate (TC 11) with credits or merits in three
subjects two of which must be relevant to the course the candidate wishes to
offer. Credit in English language is a requirement for all students and
mathematics for science students.

Associate ship certificate in education awarded by an approved institution in
Nigeria or abroad is also an acceptable qualification.

Successful candidates in the pre-NCE final Examinations who also take and
succeed, in selection examinations organized by the accredited body would also
be qualified for admission.

All candidates wishing to be considered for admission must enroll for and write
the selection examinations organized by the accredited body such as JAMB.

It should be noted that the College may in addition to all of the above,
administers her own elimination tests and/or interviews for some courses. This
is legitimate.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS

All Education courses are compulsory for all registered students.

All registered students must submit a supervised project before graduation. The
project may be written in the area of Education or any of the student’s major
subjects. (This is without prejudice to long essays or seminar papers that may
be required by some departments or in some subject areas).

Three copies of such projects typed double spaced and bound (hard covers) must
be submitted by each student before graduation. Group project is allowed in some departments.

Teaching practice is compulsory for all students and it must last for a minimum
of twelve weeks. Any weak student would not be allowed to participate in the
Teaching practice.

All registered students must enroll and pass a minimum of three general studies
course before graduation of the these: Introduction to Library studies,English and communication skills and
Nigerian citizenship are compulsory .

Industrial Attachment or SIWES is compulsory for all students registered for
courses in vocational and Technical Education.
